What Our Clients Are Saying.

I bought my first Arabian horse when my family moved to Oregon in 1970, which really dates me. I have shown Arabian and Saddlebred horses throughout Northern California, Oregon and Washington since that time. While showing in 2007 I kept watching two trainers work and show horses with amazing results. I was impressed to say the least. Those trainers turned out to be Danielle and Quinton.
I had a really tough ½ Arab Dutch mare at that time and 2 trainers had told me to cut my losses and move on. Well, they were right, it just wasn’t meant to be so I started a new chapter in my life with the help and support of both Danielle and Quinton.
I started with Danielle’s help and a seasoned show horse to fill my immediate need for moving on, getting back in the game and having fun again. Then with Quinton’s endless searching we purchased a 2 year old ½ Arab Saddlebred filly for him to start. She is a junior horse this year and we are both showing her. What FUN! I can’t tell you how happy I am. Danielle has tireless energy and enthusiasm. Quinton has a quiet steady hand. Both have a quest for perfection in both the horse and rider. I definitely have the best of both worlds. They are the BEST!

I have known Quinton and Danielle Des Fountain for many years. They truly are a team, each having incredible knowledge of not only the foundation of training, but understanding the psyche and physical aspect of equines. I am always impressed with how well they understand and implement their training techniques as it works best for the horse. Horses have individual personalities; areas they are confident in, and areas that they need encouragement and understanding in order to feel more secure and able to reach their full potential. Quinton and Danielle find that balance. I would highly recommend them not only for their expertise, but also for their ethics and the value they provide to not only the horses, but to their clients.  -Cathi Metcalf

Danielle and Quinton’s knowledge of training and instruction is of the
Highest standards as well as their attention to detail in the care of
each individual horse. – Joan Brusca, Redmond, Wa

Susan Durr & Apalelujah.

I’ve known and had Danielle as a trainer off and on for 19 years and Quinton for at least half that. I think of them as family, and I’m pretty picky. The bonus is that they are both excellent trainers who really care about the good of the horse. They can take a horse to the top, but they won’t sacrifice the horse’s health, the rider’s welfare or their ethics in the process. They have done a fabulous job training my Apaladin bred horses, as well as others, being sensitive to their individual needs. We’ve had a lot of fun over the years and enjoyed success in the show ring to boot.
Their current location is amazing- the best feeling program I’ve ever seen, great pastures and turn out, several arenas and a beautiful location. It’s like a mini vacation every time we go out there. – Susan Durr, Bellevue, Wa

Quinton Des Fountain has been my trainer for a number of years and has certainly earned my respect. I have a very lovely mare that I adore and he basically gave her back to me. She is complicated and has an extremely sensitive mouth. I couldn’t even get her around the show arena in 2008 but he took her on and figured out, little by little, the best way to work with her and gave me two additional show seasons with her, we were able to get a Regional Top 5 award each year in 2009 and 2010. I will always be grateful for his expertise and willingness to find answers how to best work with my precious mare. Thank you Quinton.

Also, he has done an outstanding job with my new young mare, He’s very cognizant of her well being so a not to over do her workouts while still bringing her along quickly enabling me to show her after only getting her in his training program five months ago. I am able to see improvement everytime I go to take a lesson on her. I’m extremely pleased with her progress, again, thank you Quinton. – Beverly Barager, Enumclaw, Wa

I ride a horse that has been trained and shown by Danielle Des Fountain in the past. He is truly a testament to her ability to train a well rounded animal that has so much to offer.
In addition, I take lessons with them periodically, because one can never learn enough. I like how they tailor their instructions to my specific needs and help me better understand my horse.
For some time now my son, who will turn 4 this winter, has been taking lessons in Des Fountain riding academy. He can trot and lead a horse at his tender age.
All and all I would highly recommend their services, whatever your equestrian needs and abilities are. – Stasha Becker, Oak Harbor, Wa

Hucklebey Fire and Mary Hall

In 2003, while living in NM, I purchased a green Country prospect from Pine Ridge Arabians.  I was about to move back to the Northwest and asked Gary Dearth for his recommendation about the best trainer to develop both the horse and me.  He had recently returned from judging the Daffodil show and commented that the amateurs guided by Danielle & Quinton Des Fountain seemed suitably mounted and well prepared. Valuing his opinion, I sent the horse to them.  I have been on board ever since.

In 2004, Hucklebey Fire+// started showing.  The first year was just Country (Jr. Horse and Amateur).  Additional divisions were added in following years (Open Country, Show Hack open and amateur, Side Saddle, and Country driving).  Each year he added titles, ultimately earning 29 regional titles and 9 national titles.  His outstanding performance has been recognized with Legion of Honor, Supreme Honor and Excellence awards.

“Buddy” is now retired (100% sound but with nothing left to prove) and enjoying life as my trail companion atBridleTrailsState Park.  Based on this great experience, I have acquired another youngster, Margiela, and turned her over to Des Fountain’s to develop.  I look forward to embarking on the adventure again.

Danielle & Quinton mold their program to fit each client’s goals and specific needs. I value this over programs that force horse and rider into pre-prescribed formats.  Their management of the health and happiness of each horse is unparalleled.  And, anyone attending their great barn dinners and parties knows that they manage their client’s happiness as well.     -Mary Hall, Monroe, Wa
